Morumbi - 2001

On 6 September 2001, Rosbrennan was kind enough to host a small gathering of

WorldPlay people at her home near Reading, UK.

WE WERE invited for noon and arrived from various points of the compass more or less on time - some of us having taken the scenic tour of Berkshire by mistake!

Ros was the best host we could have wished for and looked after us with skill and care. The setting was perfect, a welcoming house in an interesting garden with the added benefit of a warm and sunny autumn day.

We drank, talked, talked drank, ate a delicious lunch, talked and drank some more and then played bridge and talked and ate and drank and played bridge and talked......

I will let the pictures tell the story......

Willow Wishes and SdrcChris on the veranda

Always thought DAInnes was a shady character

MRainCHIT, SdrcChris, DPhill1026 and DAInnes enjoy the sun and the company - and of course - the wine

AHanc71174 and MRainCHIT watch the proceedings

MRainChit, DAInnes and WillowWishes enjoy the conversation while the attentive Ros gets more wine

DP, SdrcChris, ChrsQueen and OSullivanB
looking well fed and watered....

Mike and Duncan are listening

Alan pays careful attention

ChrisQ expounds on the future of WorldPlay

Willow watches and Ros, as ever,
is being hostly in the kitchen

We eventually played some Bridge

Ros had cleverly worked out a
complete progression of play

We each took a turn to sit out -
here Rosbrennan watches Bernard and ChrisQ
with Alan, ChrisE and Duncan in the background -
I think this was where I left poor ChrisE in 3NT!

Bridge was interspersed with conversation in the garden - Veronica, ChrisQ, Ros and Alan

ChrisQ, Veronica, Diana and Ros chatting by the pool
