Norwalk - Framingham - Boston - Harvard

Arrived at La Guardia safely after a rather short transit time in Chicago which meant trying to move at speed up one leg of O'Hare's terminal 3 and down the next to get to the right gate. Tom was there to meet me and we had a remarkably traffic-free trip out to Norwalk. What a nice place it is with a very welcoming feel to it.

This is the "ruler of the roost" at the Howard house in Norwalk!!

Emily is a very cute child - with a rapidly increasing vocabulary and a developing knack of winding adults round her little finger.

We visited several garden stores and admired their Christmas decorations

We spent a most pleasant weekend near Framingham just outside Boston - here were lakes and pine woods and the inevitable lichen and fungus

The view across the road outside where we were staying

One day I shall get better at this........

Em, Tom and Karen in the woods before breakfast

We had a delicious lunch with BayStateDon at Natick......

... and had an interesting morning exploring Boston - this included Harvard and a decidedly decadent brunch at Joe's American Grill - egg's Benedict but with delicious tender medallions of filet mignon under the eggs - definitely a good place to eat.

.

and the fountain.....

I shall have to go back one day and see it working

Boston views

All in all - despite my cold and cough - a fun week with charming people including an evening of bridge
