After another hairy transit in O'Hare I arrived coughing and toothless in Atlanta, GA. (Did I mention that Ron Blackley, Carol's husband, fed me on some delicious barbecued pork chops which proved too much for my precious crown - now I shall have to go to the dentist when I get home - ugh!)

Wendy was there to meet me and proved to be a charming and entertaining hostess.... even the dog became friends with me after I had been given some carrot to feed to her

We went to the Botanical gardens which are especially nice.

The second day we took a trip upstate to Dahlonega where we visited a consolidated gold mine and met some consolidated gold miners. We ate at the Smith House - an experience not to be missed and explored the Amicalola falls - highest falls east of the Mississippi, so they say.
